Give a gift from your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
In 2015, the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015 (the PATH Act) was passed by Congress and signed into law. Among its provisions, the Act permanently extends the ability of individuals who are at least 70 1/2 years of age to exclude from their gross income qualified charitable distributions from individual retirement accounts (IRAs).
If you are 70 1/2 or older, an IRA roll-over gift is a great way to support the North Coast Repertory Theatre.
There a few details to share with you about the IRA rollover:
1. An IRA rollover gift can be used to meet all or part of an IRA required minimum distribution
2. It is a tax-exempt distribution
3. The gift needs to be made by December 31, 2018 to qualify this year
