King of the Wild Frontier

Join Emmy Award-winning actor JOE SPANO and acclaimed screenwriter, television writer, playwright, and producer JOHN ROMANO for a one-night-only benefit reading of King of the Wild Frontier, supporting the artists of North Coast Repertory Theatre.

Directed by JENNY SULLIVAN, King of the Wild Frontier is set against the backdrop of a mid-century New Jersey country club and offers an intimate, thought-provoking exploration of faith, family, and our complicated relationship with power.

JOE SPANO is an Emmy Award-winning actor best known to television audiences as Tobias Fornell on NCIS and Lt. Henry Goldblume on Hill Street Blues. His distinguished stage career spans decades, beginning with ten seasons as a founding member of Berkeley Repertory Theatre and including acclaimed performances at South Coast Repertory, the Geffen Playhouse, Rubicon Theatre, and stages across the country.

JOHN ROMANO has built a distinguished career across film, television, theatre, and literature. His screenwriting credits include The Lincoln Lawyer, Nights in Rodanthe, and Intolerable Cruelty. His television work includes Hill Street Blues, for which he received an Emmy nomination, as well as L.A. Law, Party of Five, and Monk. Romano holds a Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from Yale, taught at Columbia University, authored a book on Charles Dickens, and has contributed reviews to The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times Review of Books.
