Sean Gref

Sean Gref has been with Yelp for six years, the last four as an Engineering Manager. In this role, he has led multiple software engineering teams through strategic planning and execution at the annual, quarterly, and project levels. He has received praise from his managers and peers for his empathetic management style as he coaches team members and mentors fellow managers to support their career growth.

Sean also co-leads the Allies vertical within Yelp’s Awesome Women in Engineering employee resource group. He introduced process improvements to streamline organization of quarterly workshops, and has broadened the program’s charter to include 3 sub-programs. Most recently, he has organized the onboarding of 11 leaders to run these programs, an effort still underway.

Outside of work, Sean is an aspiring playwright with two student productions and a minor competition win. He comes from a family of professional musicians and is a passionate supporter of the arts. He is an annual subscriber of several SD theatre companies and a donor to NCRT. In his free time, he trains his dog in various canine sports including agility and scent work.
