Elizabeth A. Tresp, JD, LL.M., grew up a dancer and in the theater of a small town in Virginia. She performed in her local community theater and studied stage construction, set design, and lighting, among other things, at the University of Virginia. She transferred to Middlesex University in London where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Theater. When she moved back to the United States, Elizabeth worked with severely abused and neglected children at Childhelp USA in Lignum, Virginia and implemented a creative movement program into the curriculum. Next, Elizabeth moved out to sea to work as a dancer on cruise ships. An injury brought Elizabeth home, where she spent the next ten years as a litigation adjuster in the automotive insurance industry. During this time Elizabeth moved to San Diego and worked full-time while attending law School at night at the University of San Diego School of Law. Elizabeth completed her Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of San Diego School of Law, earning the highest honors in Criminal Tax Fraud and Taxation of Anti-Money Laundering. Elizabeth started the law firm Tresp Law, APC in 2013. The firm focuses on Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate and Trust and Probate Litigation and has since grown into a successful mid-sized law firm. In 2019, Elizabeth partnered with attorney Kevin Day, who has practiced in Solana Beach since 1992, to form Tresp, Day & Associates, Incorporated, which focuses on asset protection and complex estate planning. The two firms are located on South Cedros Ave here in Solana Beach. Elizabeth has extensive experience in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Litigation, Trust and Estate Administration, and high-conflict litigation negotiation through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution. Elizabeth has particular experience litigating the disposition of offshore assets in trust disputes. Elizabeth has been repeatedly awarded the SuperLawyers “Rising Stars” distinction as well as the San Diego Business Journal’s coveted “Best of the Bar.” She volunteers in the Solana Beach community and sponsors youth little league baseball and youth soccer teams here as well.
