Events & Programming Manager

Phone: (858) 481-2155 x220

Email: kristen@northcoastrep.org

Kristen Van Hoesen, based in sunny Encinitas, California, brings over 15 years of nonprofit experience to North Coast Rep as Events & Programming Manager. Her passion for the arts and community shines through in everything she does.

A proud alumna of Indiana University, Bloomington, Kristen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. She began her career as a writer and shifted to the nonprofit sector to create lasting change in the world. Her professional repertoire includes pivotal roles such as her most recent position at Coastal Community Foundation, where she facilitated philanthropic partnerships and donor relationships, and managed grantmaking initiatives as their Program Officer & Grants Manager. Additionally, Kristen also has a robust history of nonprofit consulting as a grant writer.

Her love for the environment inspired her to establish a nonprofit conservation foundation in Costa Rica and develop a farm-to-table permaculture model at an off-the-grid sustainable community. An avid sailor, Kristen enjoys racing sailboats and teaching yoga in her free time. She is also a passionate traveler, always eager to explore new cultures and places. Kristen is a proud dog mom to her black lab, Piper, and adores being an auntie to her two nieces and two nephews.
