2024 - 2025 Season > A View from the Bridge

A View from the Bridge

By: Arthur Miller
Directed by: David Ellenstein

Thanks to our Lead Production Sponsor Leonard Hirsch.

Arthur Miller’s Tony Award-winning play, A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, delves into the complexities of family, love, and justice. Set in a tight-knit Italian-American community in 1950s Brooklyn, the play explores the lives of its characters with raw emotion and powerful storytelling. As tensions rise and secrets unravel, the audience is drawn into a world where loyalties are tested, and the consequences of one’s actions have far-reaching implications. With compelling characters and intense relationships, this timeless drama keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

It’s a tense, explosive production expertly directed by David Ellenstein...and also a superior cast immersed in the play’s sharp edges and detonations.

- StageWest

It’s a triumphant production of an American classic.

-San Diego Reader

Richard Baird and the other cast members of "A View From the Bridge" present what should be an award winning performance for this powerful and emotional play. This is a "you should not miss" production.

-The Vista Press

Directed by David Ellenstein, the gripping, two-hour staging is very well cast, authentically designed and it moves swiftly and ominously to its dark conclusion.

- San Diego Union~Tribune

The strength of the cast, the deft direction by Ellenstein and canvas of the staging (set design by Marty Burnett) allowed us in the audience access to the real heart of the play and the struggles of its real inhabitants. It’s a good chance to lose yourself in a well told story.
